Mission

To nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.

About Us

Hope Ignites is the catalyst that empowers young people to achieve their full potential. Through our voluntary, application-based program, we support motivated young people, affectionately known as our "scholars," in need through middle to high school, post-secondary education, and career launch. The Hope Ignites Network includes more than 250 team members and 300 volunteers who work together to serve over 1,250 young people each year. We work with youth across twelve U.S. affiliates and two in Latin America.

Job Summary

The Salesforce Platform Administrator is the primary steward of Hope Ignites' Salesforce environment, responsible for keeping the platform running well, growing with the organization, and working hard for the approximately 300 team members who depend on it every day.

This role goes beyond day-to-day administration. We're looking for someone who understands that a well-configured Salesforce org is only as valuable as the decisions it enables. That means building reports and dashboards that help our team understand what the data is telling them — clearly, accessibly, and in ways that drive action.

We believe that thoughtful adoption of AI and emerging technology is integral to our future as an organization and to the growth of the nonprofit sector as a whole. We are actively embracing these tools, and the person in this role should share that belief — bringing genuine curiosity about what AI makes possible within Salesforce and the broader technology landscape.

This role also includes access to professional development opportunities, including Salesforce training, certification support, and community conference participation, as part of our ongoing commitment to your growth.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Administration

  • Serve as the primary Salesforce administrator, managing user accounts, profiles, roles, and permission sets for approximately 300 team members across the U.S., Guatemala, and Mexico
  • Configure and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, flows, and workflows alongside a team of subject matter experts
  • Triage and resolve Salesforce support requests, escalating to subject matter experts or external partners when appropriate
  • Support system integrations and third-party applications connected to Salesforce
  • Maintain data integrity through regular audits, deduplication, and proactive data quality practices
  • Document configurations, processes, and system changes to support institutional knowledge and continuity
  • Collaborate with our external Salesforce and Tableau partner on projects, serving as a prepared internal point of contact who uses partner time purposefully

Reporting & Organizational Insights

  • Build and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards that surface key metrics and trends for leadership, program staff, and fundraising teams
  • Design visualizations in Tableau (preferred) or Power BI that translate platform data into clear, decision-ready insights
  • Work with teams across the organization to understand their data questions and develop reporting solutions that help them act on what they learn
  • Identify and address gaps in how data is captured, structured, or used — improving quality at the source so reporting reflects reality
  • Help team members build confidence with data by explaining what reports show and what it means for their work

Platform Growth & Continous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand and optimize the Salesforce ecosystem as organizational needs evolve
  • Stay current on Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, applying relevant updates with intention
  • Participate in technology initiatives and contribute to internal training resources and knowledge base documentation

What We’re Looking For

The strongest candidates for this role are Salesforce administrators who take pride in their platform work and care deeply about what the data reveals. You don’t need to be a data scientist — you need to be someone who understands how data relates to itself, can navigate a data model with confidence, and knows how to pull the right information from the right place to answer a real business question.

Successful candidates will:

  • Take ownership of the Salesforce platform and approach problems with a solutions-first mindset
  • Build reports and dashboards that are clear and useful, not just technically correct
  • Communicate effectively with both technical colleagues and non-technical team members
  • Be proactive about data quality — catching issues upstream rather than working around them
  • Bring a collaborative, service-oriented approach to supporting colleagues across the organization
  • Maintain a security-conscious mindset when managing access, data, and integrations

Qualifications

Required
  • 2+ years of hands-on Salesforce adminstration experience, ideally within a nonprofit environment
  • Demonstrated experience with relational databases and managing a data schema
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience managing Salesforce Data including imports, deduplication, and data quality practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) Strongly preferrred
  • Salesforce administrator certification or advance certifications (e.g., Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder)
  • Tableau experience specifically (preferred over Power BI)
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist or similar data visualization certification
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Flows, Process Builder, or other automation tools
  • Experience with data integration tools or connecting Salesforce to external data sources
  • Spanish language proficiency (written and spoken)
