In Woody Allen’s movie Annie Hall, the main character, Alvy Singer, says “a relationship… is like a shark. It has to constantly move forward or it dies.” I think he was exactly right, and not just about relationships, either—but about organizations.

The only thing constant is change—and organizations need to stay nimble, adaptable, and ready to embrace that change. They need to move forward constantly. One of the reasons I’m proud to lead Boys Hope Girls Hope is because this is an organization that is not only receptive to change—it embraces it.
